La Paz, July 22 (IANS) Four Venezuelan pilots and a Bolivian were killed when a helicopter that was used hours earlier by Bolivian President Evo Morales crashed in central Bolivia, EFE news agency reported Tuesday quoting Defence Minister Walker San Miguel. The Super Puma helicopter belonging to Venezuelan Air Force crashed Sunday night near Colomi, a town in Cochabamba province, Miguel said in a press conference here Monday.

Santa Cruz Referendum
On May 4th, 2008, Bolivian opposition leaders carried out an autonomy referendum in the eastern province of Santa Cruz which the government deemed an unconstitutional, illegitimate effort to divide the country and sequester national resources. Similar referendums are planned in the neighboring Bolivian provinces of Beni, Pando, and Tarija this June.
The Bolivian government has asked that all South American presidents at the UNASUR summit ratify their support for the Bolivian government as it attempts to resolve the conflict with the secessionists.
